We were honoured to host Honourable Mary Navicha, MP, the Minister of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, during her familiarisation visit to the Malawi Council for Disability Affairs (MACODA). The visit commenced with a tour of the Bangwe Factory where the Minister appreciated the remarkable work being done across its four departments: tailoring, weaving, tie and dye and printing.
Following this visit, Honourable Navicha proceeded to the Head Office, where she held an interface meeting with MACODA staff, including the Vice Board Chairperson, Mr. Vincent Rangel. This meeting aimed to give the Minister a comprehensive understanding of MACODA operations, highlighting both the achievements and the challenges faced by the organisation in promoting and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities.
In a beautiful gesture of commitment to our environment during the tree planting season, Honourable Navicha also planted trees at both the Factory and the Head Office.
